Lili Boulanger

(1893–1918)

Lili Boulanger, younger sister to Nadia, was born into one of the most distinguished musical families of late 19th century France. Considered by many of her contemporaries to be possibly the most talented composer of her generation, at the age of only 19, Boulanger won the Premiere Prix de Rome for composition, becoming the first woman to do so.

Aleksandra Maslovaric’s 2007 debut album, Feminae in Musica, includes two beautiful works by Lili Boulanger: D’un Matin de Printemps and Nocturne.
